United Way of Central Missouri is here to help our community in this time of devastation. The storm and flooding has affected many, and we will utilize all resources available to help the victims of this terrible tragedy.

United Way of Central Missouri will continue to assist in this time of recovery and rebuilding our community. The storm and flooding has affected many, and we will utilize all resources available to help the victims of this terrible tragedy.

GET HELP

If you or someone you know needs assistance or resources due to recent tornado or flooding dial 2-1-1 (or 1-800-427-4626) to complete a disaster intake.  2-1-1 services include referrals for basic human needs, physical and mental health resources, and support for all who have been impacted. 2-1-1 is free, accessible 24/7 and completely confidential.

Community Distribution Center

Those impacted by the tornado and/or flooding can obtain materials and items to help them in this time of need. The Community Distribution Center is located at Capital West Christian Event Center at 1315 Fairgrounds Road in Jefferson City. It is open Monday – Friday from 9 am – 5 pm until further notice. Available items to help victims include food, clothing, personal hygiene products, cleaning supplies, paper products, home goods and more. Individuals are encouraged to call 2-1-1 prior to visiting the site if they have not already done so.

FINANCIAL DONATIONS

Online donations can be made to the United Way of Central Missouri Disaster Recovery Fund online, or by texting MIDMO to 41444, or online through the American Red Cross website.

The United Way of Central Missouri Disaster Recovery Fund will help our community meet the disaster-related needs and support recovery throughout the affected Jefferson City and Eldon area. With your support we will rebuild the central Missouri community. 100% of donations given to the United Way of Central Missouri Disaster Recovery Fund will be used to serve intermediate and long-term recovery efforts. Thank you for helping us rebuild our beautiful community!

Cash/checks are being accepted at the United Way of Central Missouri located at 205 Alameda Drive in Jefferson City. Checks should be made payable to the United Way of Central Missouri or the American Red Cross Central & Northern Missouri Chapter. Please note ‘Disaster Recovery’ in the memo field. If your disaster recovery donation to the United Way of Central Missouri is in memory of a loved one, please also indicate for who the donation is in memorial of on the memo line.

MATERIAL DONATIONS

The central Missouri community is now transitioning to the recovery phase and is in immediate need for items to be donated to assist families to rebuild and recover. Capital West Christian Event Center at 1315 Fairgrounds Road in Jefferson City has been announced as the Community Distribution Center effective 1:00 pm on May 29. The site will be open Monday – Friday from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm until further notice.

Items needed can be found in the list below. Please note that donors are not expected to donate the full kids mentioned in the link. Individual items noted within the kits are the items requested. Distribution to our neighbors affected by the devastating storms will begin on Friday, May 31–so donations are needed as soon as possible!
